There are a lot of holiday accomodations that accept dogs. If you want to take your dog abroad you first have to inform at the authorities what specific country regulations regarding dogs and staffordshire bull terriers in particular apply.
Here are a few reminders:
- Vaccinate your dog against rabies. You can check the vaccination procedure with your vet.
- Always microchip your dog and register him, so when he gets lost he can be located easier.
- Check the quarantine regulations which apply when returning with your dog to the UK.
- If you travel by plane or boat check if the desired forwarder accepts dogs to travel or if they have specific rules for dogs.
- Make sure your travel insurance covers veterinary and kennel costs made for your dog overseas.
- Never leave your dog unattended in the car if it's extremely hot or cold.
- If you have to travel far it is best to make a few stops so your dog can eat, drink and go out for a little walk
